I’m sure many of you have seen /cracky today.
I woke up this morning to be greeted by this thread. Obviously, I was suspicious at first. It’s not the first time people have attempted to trick me into closing the board.

I just want to say that while I never did the kind of searching that other people did but I was always interested in this and I think she did some very beautiful photography and really expressed herself, however while on the one hand she has the right to her privacy just as any other human being, it’s a shame to see someone put an end to this community if you will, because to me these people truly cared about her more than just tracking her down and I’m sorry if she doesn’t see it that way. I myself would just like to see more of her beautiful artwork.

As one of the people who talked to her, I can say that the most serious “stalkers” have worked things out with her and with each other. She doesn’t really have anything left to hide, and I think all the mysteries have been solved. It’s a shame that despite her talent she’ll probably never do photography of herself again (that’s one of the things she told us), and I wish she could come to accept the creepy part of Internet fame along with the good. At the same time, she’s been a meme for over a year now, and even if she decided to continue posting her personal pictures for a public audience, the proportion of trolls to actual fans of her work would be very high compared to other “camwhores” of a similar vein. For this reason, I respect her decision to leave the Internet, and I beg all of you to respect it as well. She was very mature about the whole thing: she said she doesn’t hold grudges, she never condemned anyone, and she even mentioned that she got quite a few laughs out a lot of this stuff. Trust me, if she’d come at us calling us worthless piece of trash stalkers and waving legal threats around, I would be all for harassing the shit out of her, but her coolness and calmness about the whole thing has really touched my heart. Hello everyone,
I just woke up, it is very early here and I am still pretty bruised up from my big day yesterday.
I am having a lot of trouble functioning and am still rather incoherent.
Thank you to everyone who IM’d and emailed me yesterday to check on me. I was really stunned that anyone would even be concerned how I was dealing with this, as one of the ‘evil’ parties involved and all. I didn’t even receive a single hate mail. o_O

I find that this is a totally realistic end to the Cracky-saga. She has moved on to another phase of her life and wants to squelch these bits and pieces of a time long since past. I hope she goes on to display her photos as a professional artist. Her pictures were more interesting than anything I’ve seen hanging in a gallery for the past decade. They actually moved me to know the story behind the pictures. There are plenty of photogs on MySpace who take similar photos, but none have moved me the way hers did.

The former are icons, the latter people. I can understand Lianne’s request, but at the same time the part of the board which was dedicated to Cracky, and not Lianne, was taken down.

I’m really very new to the whole cracky deal and i was quite amazed by the art i saw from her, and i really wanted to find a way to chat with her cause she seemed amazingly interesting and someone i thought would be really cool. Much to my dismay i found out she had dissappeared from the planet and would likely ignore any atempt to contact her if a way was found out. It was quite dissappointing. Today a friend told me that she was back, i was excited thinking i might get my chance to talk to cracky finally, again to find out it was only a call to end the collective stalking of her. The whole point. You obviously never read anything I had to say on the matter, but I can’t fault you because they were usually tl;dr. That is why I am in mourning. My precious obsessive fantasy, an escape and diversion that made my life bearable, has been crushed by the ogre of reality. Cracky-chan is dead to me now. I, the Anonymous who spoke with Cracky along with Aly and Intro, have an IRL friend who I will call “Dan.” His ex-love interest/friend lives in the U.K., we’ll call her “Sue.” Now I had known this fact for a long time, but I didn’t know that much about “Sue” herself or pay that much attention to her. At the same time, Intro was also stalking a girl named “Sue” who was one of Cracky’s friends and who had appeared in the picture by the stump (other Cracky fans know the one I mean). It never even occurred to me that they could be the same person. When the topic came up during the chat, Cracky mentioned that “Sue” had spent some time in Africa and was in college now. It occurred to me then that that was “Dan”’s friend’s name, and I also realized that the two of them were both into photography and had similar styles. I mentioned this to Cracky, but we decided naw, hell no. Check the logs, all this is there. Anyway, when I linked to the AIM logs in my personal LJ, “Dan” started freaking out because his friend “Sue” had also been in Africa, had started college, lived in Oxford, and had appeared in a series of pics by a stump with another girl who he thought was “kinda cute.” He got in contact with Intro, who compared s/ns on the two “Sues,” and sure enough, they were the same girl. Check the LJ thread to see much of this, although some comments have been deleted to protect identities and real names.
Long story short, my friend’s friend’s friend is Cracky-chan.
If you think about it, that’s pretty fucking insane. I still can’t completely wrap my mind around it. I also can’t believe I never realized they were the same “Sues” before. It was right there in front of my eyes all along.

I did stop. “Dan” asked me about “Sue” so I verified who I was talking about. That’s it.
Also I haven’t been stalking “Sue”, I only visited her journal every couple weeks or so to look if there were new photos. Her photos aren’t racy or anything like that. Those two details were just something I happened to remember seeing, I haven’t been following her life closely or anything.
